Projects and Fundraisers

AMBUCS is a fun way to serve!

A few of our projects and fundraisers over the last few years include:

FUNDRAISERS

Runamuck Mud Run - (Spring) This fundraiser is a foot race at the Motocross track through the mud and obstacles.  

Participants pay a race fee.  There are 3 events: Youth Mini Mud (Ages 6-12), Individual, and Team (4 person team).  See Runamuck Tab for more info.

 

GlowBall Golf Tournament - (Spring or Fall) Another fundraiser we have held. It is a glow in the dark Night golf tournament and 80’s party.  Complete with dinner, drinks, & a Wii tournament.

 

Motocross, VIP Tower - (July)  The VIP Tower at Motocross is our largest fundraiser.  During Grand National Motocross in July, we are given use of the VIP tower.  Basically it is an airconditioned building built up high in the center of the track.  It provides airconditioning and a great view of the track to watch the races & to photograph from.  We sell wristband access to the tower to the spectators.  This year we will also man the tower at the Memorial Races and the Fall Series races.

Father/Daughter Dance Dress Swap - (Fall/Winter) The Father Daughter Dance is an event put on by another organization to raise money for the Opportunity Center each year.  Dads & daughters (ages 0-12) attend.  Each year there are a number of people with dresses they no longer need, have outgrown, etc.  The Dress Swap is an opportunity to consign or donate these gently used dresses for others to buy.

ACTIVITIES & EVENTS
Ambuc Fun Day*, a Special Olympics type event - (Spring) A special olympics-style event held at Sullins Stadium with track & field activities such as sprints, long jump, & shot put.

Angel’s Night Out - (November) We invite different vendors to come set up and sell their products, such as purses, cookware, clothing, jewelry, etc.  We invite ladies to come and shop.  It’s a fun night out with shopping, snacks & drinks.

Relay for Life - (Spring) American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, & fight back against the disease.  At Relay, teams of people camp out at the Motocross track and take turns walking around the track all night.  Separate fundraisers are held to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
